EDUCATORS RISING
Educators Rising, formerly Future Educators of America (FEA), is a club for any student who is interested in pursuing a career in education. It provides students with opportunities to observe teachers, discover more about the educational process for becoming a teacher, help promote teaching and reward educators, and actually participate in the teaching process. The club recognizes a "Vital Viking" each month, and this person is not necessarily a teacher, but any staff member who makes a vital contribution to HHS. For the last few years, members have also been surprising a department monthly with a Random Act of Kindness. Club members also hold a book drive to gather reading materials, and this year's recipient is the Aultman Hospital's Pediatric Unit.
Educators Rising meets twice a month, usually before school, and the day of the week varies from year to year. Annual dues are $10. At our meetings we discuss current topics in education and determine our staff recognition. At our final meeting in May, we have a breakfast to thank all of our "Vital Vikings" and recognize any retirees.
